Overview

This section describes the general setup steps required before initializing the Mapp Engage Android SDK.

These steps are required for all supported Android SDK versions.

Before working with the SDK (Android SDK v6 or v7), complete the following setup steps in your Android project.

Setup Steps

Complete the following steps to prepare your Android project for the Mapp Engage SDK:

  1. Set Up the Android SDK

  2. Enable Firebase Cloud Messaging

  3. Enable Android Channel in Mapp Engage

After completing the setup, continue with the version-specific SDK documentation:

  • Android SDK v7

  • Android SDK v6

Note

For SDK features such as In-App Messaging, Push APIs, and advanced integrations, refer to the respective SDK version documentation (v6 or v7).
