Prev Next

Your Mapp Engage account provides direct access to valuable customer data and communication capabilities. Strong security practices protect your data, maintain compliance, and ensure responsible messaging to your users. Following these guidelines helps prevent unauthorized access and maintains trust.

Quick Start Checklist

  • ✅ Create a strong, unique password.

  • ✅ Never share logins.

  • ✅ Spot and avoid phishing attacks.

  • ✅ Manage your team’s access.

  • ✅ Bonus: Implement IP restrictions or multi-factor authentication.

1. Keep Your Login Safe

Protect your access to prevent unauthorized entry.

Official Access Points

  • Provide your login credentials or change your password exclusively through:

    • Your company's authorized Mapp domain

    • *.shortest-route.com

    • Check for correct URL spelling

  • Bookmark the legitimate login page

  • Report suspicious login pages immediately to your admin or our Technical Support team

Enhanced Account Protection

  • We highly recommend implementing either:

    • IP Restrictions: Limit access to trusted company networks

    • Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA): Add security using an authenticator app

  • Contact your Mapp Account Representative to enable these features

2. Use Strong Passwords

A strong and unpredictable password is critical for the security of your account.

Password Requirements

  • Create long, complex, and unique passwords (consider using a passphrase)

  • Never reuse passwords across systems

  • Change passwords immediately if compromised

  • Use a password manager if approved by your IT department

  • Never store passwords in unencrypted files

Password Security

  • Only reset passwords through the official Mapp platform login interface

  • Never share passwords via email or chat

  • Report suspected password compromise immediately

  • Note: Mapp never requests passwords by email or external links

3. Manage Accounts Securely

Proper account management is the foundation of your security.

  • Create individual accounts for each team member

  • Never use shared team accounts

  • Assign only essential permissions for a given role, and assign the appropriate role to your organisation's users

  • Create dedicated API accounts for API access; use "Hybrid" type accounts only for testing, not live use

  • Review and remove unnecessary permissions regularly

  • Deactivate accounts immediately when team members leave

4. Stay Alert to Security Risk

Stay vigilant to protect your account.

Red Flags

  • Password reset or “confirmation” messages you didn’t initiate

  • Messages from unfamiliar domains claiming to be Mapp

  • Urgent “account verification” requests

  • Unusual account activity

Please contact Mapp Technical Support if you encounter any of these Red Flags or in case you’re uncertain.

Daily Habits

  • Keep login credentials private

  • Lock your computer when stepping away

  • Log out when you’re done

  • Report suspicious behavior immediately to your admin or Mapp Technical Support
