24 September 2026 Email Tracking Consent, introduced in July, now has a third option. Contacts who denied or withdrew their tracking consent can be tracked anonymously, so that their opens and clicks still count towards your campaign totals.
Until now the choice was all or nothing. Either those contacts dropped out of your reporting entirely, or a full override tracked everyone with their real identifier. The new option sits between the two: you keep measuring the campaign as a whole, while nothing recipient-specific leaves the message. This is particularly relevant where aggregate measurement is accepted but individual tracking is not, for example in Italy, and it is available to any sender who wants that middle ground.

You choose for each message which tracking applies, so a campaign that needs measuring can be handled differently from the rest of your sending.
Nothing changes unless you choose it
Your existing messages keep the behaviour they have today. The new option applies only where you select it.
How Does It Work?
If you have used the Tracking Override checkbox before, you will now find a Tracking Type drop-down in its place, with three options instead of an on/off choice.
Force Anonymized When Denied or Withdrawn is the new one. Contacts who granted consent are tracked as before, the rest are tracked anonymously.
Anonymized opens and clicks count towards message and campaign statistics only. They are not attributed to a contact, so they are not available for segmentation, automations or raw data exports.

Availability
Anonymized aggregate tracking is available to Mapp Engage users as of 24 September 2026.
