    Article summary

30 October 2024: We are excited to announce a new feature that enhances user experience by clearly explaining why certain objects or filters cannot be selected or applied in analytics reports. This new feature improves transparency, allowing users to adjust their analyses in an informed manner when needed.

    Key Benefits

    • Easily identify why certain objects or metrics are unselectable.

    • Prevent confusion when filters cannot be applied, reducing the risk of incorrect analysis.

    • Immediate feedback through tooltips and icons, promoting more efficient decision-making.

    How Does It Work?

This feature introduces informative tooltips and icons to clarify why certain dimensions, metrics, or filters cannot be selected or applied in your analysis. It applies to all analyses involving metrics and filters, with the system displaying this information directly at the analysis level for immediate feedback.

    Use Cases

    1. Incompatible dimensions, metrics, or filters now show an icon instead of being hidden. Hovering over the icon reveals a tooltip explaining why the object can't be selected, allowing users to adjust conflicting metrics.

    2. If a filter can't be applied to a metric, users will receive a message, preventing silent errors and ensuring they know when a filter hasn't been applied, improving analysis accuracy.

      Examples:

      • Analysis with a time category metric:

      • For single analyses, a message will be displayed above the analysis:

    Availability

This feature was released on October 30th, 2024.
