25 Aug 2023 Starting in November, how end times for comparisons including today are determined will change.
Key Benefits
No discrepancies in your data when today is included in the comparison compared to when it isn't.
You can still compare the times up until the latest update with custom time ranges.
How does it work?
Currently:
When today is included in the time comparison range, the last update is currently used as an automatic adjustment. For instance, if you compared data from today to yesterday, and the last update was at 12:00, both days' data would only reflect up to 12:00. This ensured that the data for today was in line with the same timeframe from yesterday.
However, this method sometimes resulted in mismatched data. For example, if you were comparing the whole of February to the current month, the data for February 28th would only be up to the last update time of today. When you pulled data separately for the entire February, the numbers might not match.
After the Update:
There won't be an automatic adjustment. 'Yesterday' represents the whole day, regardless of today's update time. When comparing yesterday with today, you'll have all of yesterday compared to today until the last update (for example, 12:00).
Use custom time periods if you prefer the earlier comparison method. A concrete example of how to create a comparison time period for yesterday can be found in the online help.
Please follow these steps before the release if you want to continue using the previous logic:
Create custom time periods that each use the time of the account update as the end time. In most cases, this will only affect single days (e.g., yesterday, 7 days ago,...).
All comparisons that do not include the current day are not affected.
Select the newly created time periods in the analyses or reports.
Availability
This feature will be available towards the middle of November 2023.
