Introduction
Sending an email message in Mapp Engage is the step where prepared email content is delivered to the selected audience.
Email sendouts can be executed immediately, scheduled for a later time, or triggered automatically as part of campaigns or journeys.
This page focuses specifically on email sendouts. Other channels follow different delivery models and are documented separately.
Email Sendout Options
Mapp Engage supports different ways to send email messages:
Immediate sendout
Send the email as soon as it is ready.
Scheduled sendout
Plan the email delivery for a specific date and time.
Automated sendout
Trigger email messages based on time-based or event-based conditions, such as subscriptions, profile changes, or user activity.
Sendout Context
Every email sendout takes place in the context of a group.
At sendout time, Mapp Engage evaluates:
group membership,
targeting and personalization rules,
delivery, moderation, and compliance settings defined at the group level.
These rules apply consistently to all email sendouts, regardless of how they are triggered.
Manual and Automated Email Sendouts
Email messages can be sent:
manually, as one-time or scheduled sendouts, or
automatically, as part of recurring campaigns or multi-step journeys.
The underlying sendout logic remains the same in both cases. The difference lies only in how and when the sendout is triggered.
