Overview

The Segmentation Builder interface is where you create and edit segments. It provides access to all available criteria, containers, and configuration options used to define the logic of a segment.

What can I do in this window?

  • Create a new segment or edit an existing one.

  • Configure criteria in the settings panel.

  • Add or remove criteria and containers on the canvas.

  • View the number of contacts matching the current segment and the counts for individual criteria.

  • Open the Info panel for detailed segment information and additional configuration options.

Description

Add a criterion

Double-click a criterion in the Add New Criteria panel or drag and drop it onto the canvas.

Add a container

Double-click New Container in the Add New Criteria panel or drag and drop it onto the canvas.

Search for criteria

Enter the first few letters of a criterion name in the search field.

Rearrange criteria

Drag and drop criteria or containers to a new location on the canvas.

Calculate segment size

Click the Calculate icon to update the number of matching contacts.

Open context menu

Hover over a criterion or container to display the context menu.

Context Menu Options

  • Copy: Creates a copy of the selected criterion.

  • Delete: Removes the selected criterion.

  • Edit: Opens the settings panel to configure the selected criterion.

Segment Details

Clicking the Info icon opens a panel with detailed information about the current segment. This view includes metadata (ID, Storage ID, timestamps, author information) as well as two important configuration options:

Description

Limit the search results

Allows you to define a maximum segment size. You can enable or disable the limitation and enter a numerical limit. Contacts beyond this limit are excluded from the segment.

Labels

Lets you assign one or more labels to the segment. Labels can be:

  • Entered directly (free text)

  • Selected from existing labels

Labels help organize segments and enable label-based filtering in the Segmentation Builder overview.

The Info panel also displays:

  • Segment name and description

  • Time zone

  • Creation, publication, and modification timestamps

  • Author and last changed by

  • Last calculation result
