When a landing page is deactivated, visitors who open its URL see an error message. To send them to a relevant page instead, enter a redirect URL for the landing page. In addition, Mapp can set up a global fallback for your system.
Redirect a Deactivated Landing Page
You enter the redirect in the step Publishing Options of the landing page, in the field Redirection (after deactivation). The target can be any URL, for example your company homepage or the URL of another landing page. For the steps, see Create New Landing Page.
The redirect applies when the landing page was published at least once and then deactivated:
automatically, on the date set under Deactivates on, or
manually, with the action Deactivate.
The redirect does not apply to landing pages that were never published. It ends when you publish the landing page again or delete it.
Redirect to Another Landing Page
To redirect to another landing page, enter its URL. You find the URL in the URL column of the landing page overview.
If the target landing page has its own redirect, visitors are forwarded again.
If the target landing page is also deactivated and has no redirect, or if it was deleted, visitors see an error message. If a global fallback is set up for your system, it applies instead.
Global Fallback
A global fallback redirects visitors to a fixed URL, for example your company homepage, when no other redirect applies. This includes the following cases:
The landing page was deactivated or deleted and has no redirect.
The redirect target is deactivated or no longer exists.
Mapp sets up the global fallback for your system on request. To activate it, contact your Customer Success Manager.
Deactivate or Delete?
Warning
When you delete a landing page, its redirect ends and all tracking data of the page is deleted. You can no longer export it. To keep the redirect and the data, deactivate the landing page instead.
