Overview
The Tracking & Links tab defines how Mapp Engage tracks contact activity related to email messages sent within a group. It controls open and click tracking, inbox monitoring for deliverability insights, timed link redirection, and link parameters used for analytics or ecommerce reporting. These settings apply to all messages that use the configuration template, ensuring consistent tracking behavior across the group.

Settings
Track Email Opens
Defines how Mapp Engage tracks whether contacts open email messages sent to the group.
Open tracking is available for HTML email messages only. The tracking pixel used to calculate opens cannot be inserted into text-only messages.

Track HTML Opens with Invisible Tracking Pixel | Adds a transparent tracking pixel to every HTML email message sent to the group. When the image is downloaded, the open is recorded and used to calculate the Confirmed Open Rate KPI. If images are disabled in the email client and no link is clicked, the open cannot be tracked. |
Add Tracking Pixel – Beginning of the Message | Inserts the tracking pixel at the beginning of the HTML message. |
Add Tracking Pixel – End of the Message | Inserts the tracking pixel at the end of the HTML message. If the HTML view is disabled in the email client, the tracking pixel link may be visible at the beginning of the message. |
Track Link Clicks
Defines which links Mapp Engage tracks in email messages sent to the group.
Link tracking is not available for SMS messages.

Track Text Message Links | Activates tracking for links in text-only emails. By default, link tracking is disabled for text messages. The link URL is modified to briefly redirect through the tracking system before reaching the destination. |
Track HTML Message Links | Activates tracking for links in HTML emails. Links are briefly redirected through the Mapp Engage system before opening the target page. This redirection is not noticeable to the contact. This option is enabled by default. |
Track Personalized Links | Activates tracking for personalized links that contain placeholders replaced with contact-specific values during the sendout process. Personalized links are evaluated as aggregated results rather than individually. |
Track System Links | Activates tracking for system links, including read online, forward, unsubscribe, and edit profile. Only system links with the supported format are tracked. This option is enabled by default. |
Inbox Monitoring
Defines whether Mapp Engage measures the deliverability rate of messages sent to the group.
Inbox monitoring sends a copy of each message to automatically generated control email addresses at major email service providers. The performance of these messages is used to estimate deliverability rates.

Automatic Link Redirection
This section controls timed link redirection. After a defined period, links in messages are redirected to a different destination. This prevents contacts from landing on outdated or unavailable pages.
Specific links can be excluded from automatic redirection during message creation.

After x Days | Defines when the redirection takes place. The time frame is measured in 24-hour periods after the original sendout time. For example, if a message is sent at 10:00, redirection occurs at 10:00 after the specified number of days. |
Link Parameters
This section defines parameters that are added to message links. When a contact clicks a link, these parameters are transmitted to a web analytics or ecommerce system.
When a prepared message is sent with link parameters, the parameters remain in the message for all future sendouts. Removing parameters from the group settings does not remove them from already prepared messages.

Required parameters are generated automatically for the selected integration. |
Exclude Links | Defines rules to prevent link parameters from being added to specific links, for example, unsubscribe links. • Regex to Identify the Link: Defines a regular expression that determines which links are excluded from link parameters. • Description of the Pattern: Provides a descriptive label to help identify the exclusion rule later. Any text can be entered. |
Actions
