Contact Management in Mapp Engage

Prev Next

Introduction

Contacts are the foundation of Mapp Engage. They represent the people who receive your communications — your audience. Each contact has a centralized profile with identifiers, attributes, and activity across all channels.

This section of Mapp Engage is where you manage and review your audience. It provides the tools to keep contact data accurate, to import new contacts into the system, and to view details such as transactions, value, and engagement.

Common Use Cases

  • View contact details: Access a complete profile with identifiers, attributes, transactions, value, and engagement metrics for each contact.

  • Audience management: Add, update, or remove contacts to keep your database accurate.

  • Import contacts: Bring in new audience data via manual uploads or automated imports.

Key Elements and Processes

Centralized Profiles

Every contact is accessible through Audience > Contact Management > All Contacts. A profile consolidates personal identifiers, attributes, channel addresses, and activity history into one record.

Getting Contacts into the System

Contacts are brought into Mapp Engage through CSV or XML imports, automation jobs, process control, or manual entry. Each import merges new data into existing profiles, verifies syntax, and prevents duplicates or invalid entries.

  • Imports always assign contacts to an existing group.

  • Profiles can be scaled from single manual entries to millions via automated imports.

Working with Profiles

Once contacts are in the system, their profiles enable you to:

  • Organize audiences with groups and attributes.

  • Review engagement and value metrics.

  • Track activity history across channels.

  • Archive copies of sent messages using control addresses.
