Goal
To create or delete a group attribute.
Prerequisite
The group for which the attribute is being created must already exist in Mapp Engage.
Background Information
Group attributes are identical for all members of a group. Group attributes can be created manually or through XML or CSV file imports.
Character Limitations for Attribute Names
When creating attribute names in Mapp Engage, please observe the following restrictions:
Strict Limitations
Leading/trailing whitespace and the period (
.) characters are not allowed.
General Recommendation
We recommend using only alphanumeric ASCII characters (letters
a–z,A–Z, and digits0–9) to ensure compatibility and avoid processing issues. Avoid special characters (e.g.,' " - < > : , ; | / &`).

Maximum length: 100 characters
Not case-sensitive
Procedures
Creating Group Attributes Manually
In the top navigation, click Create Newe > Attribute. Alternatively, go to Administration > Attributes > Group Attributes
Click Create new Attribute.
In the Attribute Name field, enter the name of the new attribute.
Select the Attribute Type: Group Attribute if not preselected.
From the Group drop-down menu, select the desired group.
In the Value field, enter the value for the group attribute.
This value is the same for all members of the group.
Maximum length: 2000 characters.
Click Save & Close.
Creating Group Attributes via Import
To create a group attribute using an XML or CSV file import, refer to the following documentation:
Deleting Group Attributes
Go to Administration > Attributes > Group Attributes.
Select the desired group from the drop-down list.
Activate the checkbox next to the attribute you wish to delete.
Click Delete at the bottom of the page.
