11 August 2025 Our Product catalog now offers more customization than ever!
Key Benefits
You can now add up to 5 new custom attributes when using our Product Catalog. This allows you to capture attributes outside of our current data structure. You can now store more in-depth data, like sizes or product finishes, as you wish.
Important
The names of these attributes cannot be edited, they will always be customAttribute1, customAttribute2, etc. Their value must be in a String format.
There’s an overview of your Product Catalog’s data structure in our user interface. Simply click Administration > eCommerce > Product Catalog > Structure.

How does it work?
All new Mapp Connect integrations will automatically have the mappings for the newly introduced predefined custom attributes field. None of your existing setups has been changed. For these older integrations, you’ll need to either remove the product mapping and re-add it or manually add the five new available mappings.
Once this is done, or you’ve created a new integration in Mapp Connect, the product mapping should now have customAttribute 1 to 5. You can use these to store whatever information you’d like. For example, if you are selling a floor-length, formal dress that is in a red satin finish, appropriate for special occasions. To do this, you can:
Send a product event with custom attributes mapped, for example, with our API.
{ "productSKU": "aaa-bbb-ccc", "productName": "redGown", "productPrice": "565", "productURL": "http://somedomain2.com", "stockTotal": "88", "customAttribute1" : "satinFinish", "customAttribute2" : "formal", "customAttribute3" : "red", "customAttribute4" : "specialOccasion", "customAttribute5" : "floorLength" }Go to Administration > eCommerce > Product Catalog and search for the SKU (aaa-bbb-ccc) you updated.
Click on the details eye icon, and your newly saved values should be visible.
