Use a Content Store Element in an Email

Goal

Insert an image, a file, or HTML content from the Content Store into an HTML email with a placeholder. You store the element once and reference it in as many messages as you need.

Prerequisite

The element exists in the Content Store. For how to add elements, see Content Store.

Copy the Placeholder

  1. Go to Content > Content Store.

  2. Click the element. The Details section opens below the list.

  3. Under Placeholder for Email, copy one of the two placeholders.

A link to the element

The number in the placeholder is the ID of the element. It is shown at the top of the Details section.

Insert the Placeholder

  1. Open the HTML email.

  2. Paste the placeholder into the HTML code where the element should appear.

  3. Save the email.

At sendout, Mapp Engage replaces the placeholder with the element or the link.
