The metric is calculated using cookies. A cookie is unique for each device and browser. If User Centric Tracking is deactivated, the metrics "Browsers, Unique" and "Visitors" are the same.
Depending on the analysis, a browser is counted once or once per time interval (e.g. day, week, month).
Information on Cookie based Tracking
If a users accesses a website, a cookie with an ID is set. Based on this cookie the users is recognized in future accesses. In case the user deletes the cookies or uses different devices/browsers, a new cookie is set and the user is counted as new "Browsers, Unique".
