Create or Delete Group Attributes

Goal​

To create or delete a group attribute.

Prerequisite​

The group for which the attribute is being created must already exist in Mapp Engage.

Background Information​

Group attributes are identical for all members of a group. Group attributes can be created manually or through XML or CSV file imports.

Procedures

Creating Group Attributes Manually

1. In the top navigation, click Create Newe > Attribute. Alternatively, go to Administration > Attributes > Group Attributes and click ​Create new Attribute.

2. In the Attribute Name field, enter the name of the new attribute.

   • Maximum length: 100 characters.

   • Not case-sensitive.

   • Avoid using empty spaces or special characters to prevent processing issues.

3. Select the Attribute Type: Group Attribute if not preselected.

4. From the Group drop-down menu, select the desired group.

5. In the Value field, enter the value for the group attribute.

   • This value is the same for all members of the group.

   • Maximum length: 2000 characters.

6. Click Save & Close.

Deleting Group Attributes

1. Go to Administration > Attributes > Group Attributes.

2. Select the desired group from the drop-down list.

3. Activate the checkbox next to the attribute you wish to delete.

4. Click Delete at the bottom of the page.
