Prerequisites

  • The SMS channel is activated for your system

  • Mobile numbers are available in contact profiles

  • Required sender IDs or SMS numbers are configured

A) Build Your Audience

Before sending an SMS, you need to define who should receive it.

In Mapp Engage, SMS audiences are built from contacts, organized through groups, and refined using segmentation.

In this step, you:

  • organize contacts in groups suitable for SMS communication,

  • ensure mobile numbers are available and valid,

  • refine the audience using segmentation criteria.

B) Create the SMS Message

Once your audience is defined, you create the SMS content that will be sent to recipients.

SMS messages in Mapp Engage follow a consistent model and are designed for concise, time-critical communication.

Before composing your message, it is helpful to understand how SMS messaging works conceptually and how SMS-specific characteristics influence content creation and delivery.

  • add personalization and variables where appropriate,

  • review and test the message before sendout.

C) Send the Message

After the message is prepared, it is delivered to the selected audience.

SMS sendouts can be executed immediately, scheduled, or triggered automatically.

In this step, you decide:

  • whether it is a one-time or recurring sendout,
