    Configuration

    Content Tools

    Setting

    Description

    Personalization

Customize messages for contacts or target groups by adding personal data (e.g., first names) using placeholders or rules. Mapp Engage ensures no empty message is sent by skipping incomplete messages during sendout.

    Mapp Engage Variables

Insert consistent content across all recipients using variables. Mapp Engage replaces the placeholders during sendout.

    Upload Message

Upload various content types, such as HTML emails, plain text versions, or multi-part MIME emails.

    Link Categories

Assign or check link categories for better message management.

    Hyperlink hint

For email clients to function correctly, hyperlinks should be enclosed in double quotes.

    Correct: <a href="http://www.google.com">Click here</a>

    Incorrect:  <a href='Click'>http://www.google.com'>Click here</a>

    Actions

    Description

    Save as Draft

Save the message as a draft for future editing.

    Preview

Opens the Message Preview window to test and view your email before sending.

    Input Fields

    Content Area

    Setting

    Description

    Message Name

The internal message name entered in step 1 of the message creation process. It helps identify the message in the system but isn't visible to recipients.

    Tags

Add internal tags to the message for better organization. Separate multiple tags with commas or spaces.

    Email Subject Line

Define the subject line for your email, ensuring it's clear and engaging (50 characters or less is ideal). Personalization can be added to the subject line.

    Email (HTML)

Write or paste HTML code or use a graphical HTML editor to format your message.

    Email (Text)

Create a plain text version for your HTML email. Mapp Engage sends both versions in a multi-part MIME format, allowing recipients to view the most suitable one.

    Advanced Options

    Setting

    Description

    Attachment

Attach files (e.g., PDFs or images) from your local system or the Mapp Engage content store. Mapp Engage limits file types for security.

    Character Encoding

Choose the character encoding format, such as UTF-8 (ideal for international languages) or ISO 8859-15 for Western European languages.

    Image Handling

Define how images are handled: inline (downloaded in the email), hosted by Mapp Engage, or left unchanged (useful for tracking pixels).

    Message Category

Organize your messages by assigning a category, which can be used for future selection and automation.

    Email Headers

Add additional parameters to modify the email header, which can impact email deliverability and metadata visibility. For example: Sender, Recipient, Creation Date, Subject, Sendout Date.

Many email clients hide these details by default. Changes to the email header can affect the deliverability of your emails. For more information, see Change Email Header for One Sendout.
