    Article summary

    Introduction

Mapp Engage Variables allow you to insert dynamic content into email messages and landing pages. These variables help automate content insertion, saving time and ensuring consistency.

Unlike personalization, which customizes content per user, Mapp Engage Variables display the same content to all recipients or visitors, making them ideal for shared dynamic elements.

    Common Use Cases

    • Add message, group, or system metadata to your messages.

    • Insert links to Mapp Engage landing pages.

    • Include system links like:

      • “View in browser”

      • “View mobile version”

      • “Unsubscribe”

      • “Update profile”

    • Merge content from external websites into a message or landing page.

    • Embed conversion tracking variables.

    • Add coupons or barcodes into emails or landing pages.

    • Attach individual files (e.g., invoices) to messages.

    Components

Mapp Engage Variables use placeholder tags in the format <% ... %>, which are replaced with content at sendout. Some variables work out of the box, while others may require setup.
